LOST EMPIRE. 1984

Director: Jim Wynorski

Lost Empire is a poor parody that mixes sword & sorcery, softcore porn, & jungle island adventure in a manner that makes it difficult to tell if it's the past, present, or future. It's pure camp, not at all malicious, but without much else that can be said for it in the way of saving graces.

Angus Scrimm, "the tall man" of the Phantasm series, is very much a let-down in this, playing a Fu Manchu type villain seeking the Eye of the Avatar created by the lost race of Lemurians.

The action is set on a Pacific Island inhabited by a tribe of women warriors played by a number of semi-naked babes (chief among them played by Raven de la Croix). Female adventurers Angel Wolfe (Melanie Vincz) & Heather McClure (Angela Aames) are martial artists who repair to the secret island for a martial arts tournament, seeking vengeance against Angel's brother's slayers.

There's not much effort to give this any degree of interest beyond simple sexploitation. For viewers who don't care how bad a movie is just so long as there are some hot babes who at one point or another get undressed, this'll do the trick, for Wynorski can do much worse.
