Shakedown
SHAKEDOWN. 1988
Director: James Glickenhaus

Peter Weller plays a callous disinterested public defender who may have himself an innocent client, & rediscovers his own humanity & commitment to justice. He is a wonderful actor even in a trivial role & invests depth in a character that in the script per se had none.

Sam Elliot is a rebel cop with a bad reputation. Elliot's a colorful actor even when he seems to be walking through his role disinterestedly, which is what he does here.

Shakedown was a forgettable entertainment, meeting all the requirements for an enjoyable thriller, but a week later it was difficult to remember what it was about, since it wasn't about much.
