The Stickup

THE STICKUP. 2002

Director: Rowdy Herrington

I figured no matter how average this bank heist caper film turned out to be, I'd enjoy James Spader even so. But the film greatly exceeded my expectation.

It's a film noirish story with some pretty good plot twists, & excellent performances all round.

Toward the climax it all gets a bit too "busy" with still-more-twists & last-minute addition of extra villains mainly for action purposes. Some of the weight & clutter at the end was obviously hard to manage, but otherwise it's a faultless little film.
